I’ve already done my initial post. Please just type a one to two paragraph response to the two students posts below stating if you agree or disagree and why. Here is the topic:
The Final Project for this course is the creation of a case study analysis. Review the Final Project Guidelines and Rubric document, paying particular attention to the Prompt section (which is a detailed list of requirements for your final project), as well as the Milestone section (which provides an overview of each of the milestones in this course). Although the milestones support your successful completion of the final project, note that these assignments are not full drafts of the elements in the final project prompt, so although you will be working on different skills and aspects of your final project during the term, you will need to complete all elements of your case study analysis for submission in Module 9.
To begin your work on this project, select a case study vignette for your final project from the Case Study Vignette document in the Reading and Resources folder.
Identify the title of your chosen case study vignette in your discussion post title. Explain why you chose this particular case study vignette, and identify the central ethical conflict evident in the case study.
When responding to at least two of your peers, share your thoughts on their identified central ethical conflict. Do you agree or disagree? Explain your reasoning.
Student One’s Post:
The case study I choose to work on for the final project is Case 9-50-After an affair (Koocher & Keith-Spiegel, 2016). This case discusses an affair between Gary Goferit, Ph.D., and Paula Jettison (Koocher & Keith-Spiegel, 2016). The affair had ended, and Jettison filed charges against Goferit for sexual harassment and exploitation and contacted social media sources (Koocher & Keith-Spiegel, 2016). Other students came forward claiming similar unethical practices (Koocher & Keith-Spiegel, 2016). The main ethical issue here is harassment and maintaining professional boundaries.
I am interested in this topic particularly because of the unethical situation I faced at work with harassment which I discussed in our previous discussion and also because I currently work in HR at a logistics warehouse and there are many concerns related to harassment. Unfortunately, I am one of the only females working at this facility as it is a pretty labor-intensive job, they work in a warehouse, and many times unwanted phrases or gestures are presented to the female workers there and I have to handle them with disciplinary action. I am interested in how I can apply this to my own field of expertise and learn from this case study.

Student Two’s Post:
The case I have selected for my final paper is Case 2-2 Carl Klutzkind, PhD (Koocher & Keith-Spiegel, 2016). This case is about ” Dr. Klutzkind treated a woman for six months with various adjustment issues following a separation and upcoming divorce. Client’s attorney asked therapist to testify that client should receive child custody of her 7 year-old. Therapist lacked previous forensic experience or training but from the witness stand he offered opinions about the adjustment of client and her child. Client’s husband filed an ethical complaint against therapist on the grounds that he lacked training in child work and he never interviewed the child, thus he was negligent in offering an opinion. Furthermore, this therapist did not attain information from another therapist who was seeing the child, nor from the child’s father” (Koocher & Keith-Spiegel, 2016).
This case caught my attention because as much as the psychologist wanted to help his client he actually was no help. The ethical issue was the psychologist lacking forensic experience and training. That being said he was not the appropriate person to speak on behalf of why his client should get custody because he should have checked in with the child and the child’s psychologist. I can see how something like this can happen easily because he was helping his client through the separation and how to adjust to her new life. Although, he did not have enough knowledge or information to gather about his client’s relationship with the child. He probably only knows one side from the story of what is happening from which is from his client but does not know how the child’s side of the story and how the child feels in order to talk on behalf of the situation.
